Before we dive in...
Here are 3 key points that make our Electric Powertrain Solution Great!
Our partner FRIWO have been in the industry for over 50 years, they specialise in manufacturing high grade power supplies, battery packs and the respective chargers.
Our electric powertrain range featuring a 2kWh battery pack and 500W charger is an extension of knowledge and experience formed over the past 5 decades.
The Charger and Battery both feature CANbus communication so they can ‘talk’ with each other and also be reprogrammed for specific applications.
The secret to extending the battery’s life span is a sophisticated charging algorithm to carefully monitor and maintain cell health while charging.
The built in BMS has safety built in, by monitoring each cell to make sure the pack is performing as intended.
If you are looking for an ‘off-the-shelf’ powertrain package, you can take 1 of each component shown on our website has it has been designed to work together and comes complete with all the mating connectors.
However, if you need a specific motor for your application (such as a hub) this is not a problem either, our motor controller is adaptable to 100’s of motors and will ‘self-teach’ how to operate it best during set up.
You can also use different displays too, information is transmitted via CAN. Even if you don’t have a display you can use our free App to remote monitor the controller.
Additionally our battery pack can be upgraded with grid firmware, this means you can wire up to 50 battery’s in parallel and they will communicate with each other to distribute power evenly, you can also swap them out.
The Battery Pack and Motor Controller can be monitored and reprogrammed with the bespoke ‘Enable Tool’
This advanced software has over 1,000 adjustable parameters to tailor the performance to your liking, giving your application that unique edge above the rest!
For example, you can control how much power is drawn from the battery at any time, set the max rotor speed, add regeneration braking to charge the battery
or why not program in a hill start assist?
Did we also mention you can store 4 different driving profiles on board the motor controller so you can switch between them on the go!
Only got 20% battery capacity left?
You can make the system to switch to ECO mode.
This new design features our BMS Gen2, capable of delivering more power for longer!
Encapsulated in our new watertight IP65 housing with built in heat sink, not only the aesthetics are an upgrade the durability out performs the previous generation, perfect for demanding environments.

The FRIWO SDK allows you to easily develop your own individual modules as part of the FRIWO E-Mobility products firmware (MCU, BMS and Battery Pack). Thus, it allows you to focus on the application development that is relevant for your scenario or business case.
At the same time, you benefit from sophisticated FRIWO basic software. In combination with the FRIWO Enable Tool, the self-developed parameters can be displayed or modified. Your customized firmware can be rolled out to own fleets.

Here are some projects our powertrain technology has been implemented!
BREKR Model B
Brekr started developing Model B with the aim of launching an electric moped that surpasses all other models in terms of design and technology.
The two start-up founders Jasper Hagedoorn and Niels Willems were looking for an experienced partner for the technical implementation. After testing numerous battery systems, controllers and motors, FRIWO emerged as Brekr’s system partner of choice.

Electric GoKart Conversion | Gen 1
We were able to convert this petrol powered Go Kart into a fully electric version.
Using the following parts:
1x 5kW Brushless DC Motor
1x Motor Controller
1x 30Q Battery Pack
1x Display (optional)
The motor controller had 2 input signals connected, 1 analog and 1 digital.
- The analog signal was connected to pedal as the throttle, giving a value 1-100.
- The digital signal was connected to switch under the steering wheel,
when toggled this put the Go Kart in reverse mode.
Electric GoKart Conversion | Gen 2
For the next Go Kart conversion, the same controller and motor were used.
However, we doubled the battery count, this allowed for a longer running time and double the available power.
When our battery packs are to be put in parallel we install grid firmware, this allows them to communicate with each other and be swapped out.

In test lab conditions, we were able to spin the wheels over 100km/h!
Classic Vespa Conversion
This client specialises in providing electric vehicle conversions, recently they have adopted our powertrain system into their light electric vehicle conversions, this Classic Vespa for example.
Combining their engineering abilities with our pre-approved Battery Packs, Sophisticated Motor Controller and Programming Software they were able to get a electric vehicle working in no time!
Battery Backup Array
This client needed a battery pack-up system for their telecommunications and network system in the event of a catastrophic power cut.
Wiring 20 of our battery packs in parallel increased the rated capacity to 804Ah!
With the system current draw of approx 10A per hour, this would allow the system to stay powered up and online for over 3 days.
Electric Golf Buggies
Believe it or not, most buggies are still petrol powered.
While there are electric versions out there, the majority of these use lead acid.
A Lead acid battery is heavy and slow. Using a lithium ion pack like ours offers higher energy density and quicker charging speeds.
Pairing the battery with our powertrain technology offers a quiet, smooth ride with instant speed and less maintenance.
Electric Ricksaws
Using 4 battery packs in parallel with with 2 motors and 2 controllers, we are able to produce a powerful and reliable vehicle for everyday use.

In order to serve one of the world’s most rapidly developing markets in a targeted manner, our partner FRIWO has now founded its own subsidiary in India.
The core tasks of the new subsidiary will be support and project management for local customers as well as the coordination of local manufacturing. With the goal of being able to flexibly serve the demanding Indian market with high-quality solutions.
Electric Autonomous Robots
Graz University of Technology is fulfilling this reality by developing a universally applicable research vehicle that can be used both for simulating a mission to Mars and for rescuing people buried in avalanches.
FRIWO accompanies this exciting project and provides strategic advice and supplies the drive and control technology.

PINK e-scooters
For reliable motor control and battery performance, the FRIWO Powertrain solution was the right choice for this electric scooter!
This scooter can be equipped with either a single battery or two for additional range.
The on board BMS allows both battery packs to 'talk' with each other giving even power distribution and supreme performance.
Emco e-scooters
Emco is Germany's largest supplier of electric scooters.
Since 2011 Emco have been producing electric scooters for sharing companies, fleets and delivery services.
Emission-free e-scooters with the advantages of e-bikes and electric cars.
Their electric scooters create quickly visible mobility as sharing scooters.
These electric scooters utilise our battery pack and motor controller technology,
with support for a 3rd party wheel hub motor.
Trefecta
The Trefecta comes in 3 models:
DRT:
heavy duty up-side-down double legged front fork for the most challenging terrains
URB:
single leg front fork for the comfortable urban ride
RDR:
designed to have the capability of tackling almost any terrain and commute you in style
The Trefecta DRt and URB have re-generation. During each braking action with either the left and or right brake lever, regeneration is activated.
All drive modes are easily configurable using our motor controller and programing software
